No matter if you’re a designer, a fashionista or just Average Jane, you will appreciate the brilliance of costume design for Angelina Jolie’s character Elise in The Tourist. Sleek, sophisticated but feminine and alluring, Costume Designer Colleen Atwood used a neutral color palette to cue Jolie’s character as a super wealthy woman of mystery. Atwood is best known for her work on Tim Burton films and tendency to use stripes and lots of black and white.  All of the costumes for ‘Elise’ were designed and made by Atwood except for one vintage dress in grey wool by Charles James.  Luxurious fabrics with just a few pops of color here and there, and sometimes elbow length gloves set the tone for  Jolie’s character, a woman of incredible beauty who turns heads where ever she goes, but there’s more to her than meets the eye.
